MIC

Established in 1931, the Music Institute of Chicago is the only independent community music school in Illinois, and one of just ten in the country to be accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.

Serving more than 5,000 music students and arts therapy clients ages four months to 91 years, the strenth of MIC lies in the caliber of its distinguished faculty. The Music Institute of Chicago believes that enjoying and understanding music and developing the skills to create and perform music enhance the quality of life, nourish the human spirit, and is therefore committed to providing the foundation for a life-long enjoyment of music.

With Axiom Brass’ residency and partnership with the Music Institute of Chicago, students are able to take lesson with members of the quintet and have chamber music coachings with the Axiom Brass. MIC and Axiom Brass also offer a summer academy for brass player to emerge into the world of chamber music. Finally, with this residency, the Axiom Brass will perform several recitals, educational concerts, masterclasses, and clinics for the MIC community.
