Residency

Axiom Brass offers residencies that will further develop students’ musicianship as well as enhance the visibility of music programs within their communities. Residencies include masterclasses, sectional coachings, chamber music coachings, concerts, educational outreach and much more.  The length of the residency can vary from one week to a yearlong collaboration, depending on the needs of your program. Residencies can include combined concerts with band, orchestra, choir, jazz band, and members of faculty.

Some of the masterclasses presented by the Axiom Brass include:

  • The Art of Practicing
  • It is in the Air
  • Beyond the Notes
  • Bring Your Best to the Stage
  • Developing a Chamber Music Ensemble
  • Composing for Brass - Composer's Forum
  • The Business of Making Music

In 2012-13, Axiom Brass will continue their afterschool chamber music residency.  Available in sessions of 7-14 days, Axiom Brass can help design and start a chamber music program at your school.  During the Axiom Brass Chamber Music Camp, students of all instruments and all ages will be placed in different ensembles, and will be coached daily by members of the Axiom Brass.  The camp also features daily classes that focus on technique and chamber music performance.  The camp ends with a grand-finale concert featuring all of the student ensembles.  During the camp, Axiom will perform a recital at your school and, upon request, can be available as featured soloists to perform a concert with your band or orchestra.
