LOVE, MYSTERY AND DESPAIR is a passionate affair with the romance, mystery, and intrigue of Latin Music. Highlighting Astor Piazzolla’s mastery of tangos, Cacilda Borges Barbosa’s luscious harmonies, and a new, bossa-inspired composition from Lillian Yee, Axiom explores the vast wealth of musical idioms from Latin origins.

LIMITLESS is a live multimedia concert experience exploring the boundless connection between humankind and the furthest reaches of the cosmos. With original compositions and transcriptions paired with stunning visuals and reactive sound-to-video effects, Limitless is an engaging, immersive show that ventures beyond the traditional boundaries of the concert hall.

The University Wind Ensemble presents an exciting collaboration with the award-winning quintet Axiom Brass. The combined ensembles perform José Vicente Egea's Fantasia Flamenca for Symphonic Band and Brass Quintet as part of a vibrant program of contemporary works for winds, brass, and percussion.

Friday: Axiom Brass continues as ensemble in residence at Adelphi University including our eighth performance for the Garden City, NY community! The program is anchored around the world premiere of David Lipten’s “Waits and Measures” as well as Reena Esmail’s “Khirkiyaan for Brass Quintet” and George Walker’s “Music for Brass Sacred and Profane”.

Axiom Brass returns to the Lexington Bach Festival with a program featuring music from Barbara Strozzi to George Walker including Axiom’s in-person premiere of Kevin Day’s newly composed brass quintet, “Fantasia III”, as well as music by none other than the festival’s namesake, J.S. Bach.
A celebration of centennials and living music! Axiom Brass closes their 2020-21 season with a live-stream performance paying tribute to monumental composers Astor Piazzolla and George Walker as well looking to the future with living music by Kari Watson and Lillian Yee. The program concludes with the world premiere of Fantasia III by rising star composer Kevin Day!
As a Don Michael Randel Ensemble-in-Residence at the University of Chicago, Axiom Brass will record four original works for brass quintet by UChicago composers Dongryul Lee, Kari Watson, Gabriel Novak, and Frank Song.
As part of the Sistema Ravinia Celebration for the end of the 2020-21 program Axiom Brass will present works by Lillian Yee, Astor Piazzolla, George Walker, and Cecilda Borges Barbosa.
This free, outdoor performance is Axiom Brass’ first in-person concert since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Program includes music by Leonard Bernstein, Astor Piazzolla, Lillian Yee, Liduino Pitombeira, Cacilda Barbosa, and Chiquinha Gonzaga.
