Educational Programming

Axiom’s dedication to education and their blend of virtuosic performances and dynamic teaching have inspired young audiences around the nation, earning the ensemble the 2011 Fischoff Educator Award. Their educational concert “Let’s Make Music” has captivated thousands of elementary and middle school students throughout the United States.

Creation of New Works

Axiom Brass is committed to building the brass chamber music repertoire with an emphasis on supporting compositions by BIPOC and women.

In partnership with our supporters and many of our esteemed colleagues, Axiom Brass recently commissioned Kevin Day to write a brass quintet.

Keep the Music Playing!

Axiom Brass is devoted to performing and recording original music for brass quintet and translations of music that make special additions to our repertoire. They are excited to push the genre forward through collaborations with living composers as well as pay tribute to the life and music of monumental composers.

Axiom's 2020 release of First Impressions features five works the quintet commissioned by composers such as Augusta Read Thomas and David Faleris. In the fall of 2021 Astor was released as a centennial celebration of the music of Astor Piazzolla. In 2022 Axiom plans to honor the centennial of George Walker and his original brass quintet, Music for Brass: Sacred and Profane.
